My Biography

Jamil Thorne, our esteemed founder, brings over a decade of dedicated experience in guiding high school and college students towards achieving their academic and career aspirations. With a comprehensive background in higher education, Mr. Thorne has excelled in various capacities, including admissions, academic advising, disability services, and career counseling.

In 2012, Mr. Thorne demonstrated his commitment to diversity and education by establishing the Jamil Thorne Diversity Scholarship at Fort Hays State University, providing invaluable support to students of color. His passion for empowering individuals led him through impactful roles at esteemed institutions such as Everest College and the University of Houston-Downtown. Transitioning to the private sector, Mr. Thorne served as the Early Talent Manager for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Amherst Holdings, a leading real estate investment firm based in Austin, TX. He further honed his expertise as a Campus Recruiter at Eide Bailly, a top-ranked accounting firm in the US.
Additionally, Mr. Thorne dedicated his time at Bloom Consulting in Houston, TX, where he coached neurodiverse learners, facilitating their academic success and personal development. Originally hailing from Colorado Springs, CO, Mr. Thorne now calls Houston, TX, home. His mission as a coach is succinctly captured by the mantra coined by his late mother, Cynthia Thorne: “keep it pushing.” Whether aiding students on academic probation or guiding individuals towards their life goals, Mr. Thorne is committed to providing unwavering support and guidance every step of the way.
